Burnaby Blues + Roots Festival
Each summer, Deer Lake Park sets the stage for the Burnaby Blues & Roots Festival, with a full day of live music from local talent, emerging artists and headline acts. Free and family-friendly, it’s a much-loved community gathering set against one of Burnaby’s most scenic backdrops.

Canadian Cultural Festival
The Canadian Cultural Festival takes over the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre for a full day of food, art, and live performance. Workshops, cultural booths, and an arts marketplace round out the day, bringing many voices and traditions together in one place.

Nikkei Matsuri
Experience the true spirit of Omotenashi / wholehearted hospitality at this year’s Nikkei Matsuri festival. We bring the magic of a Japanese summer night to life at the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre with food stalls, games, performances, and family-friendly activities. It’s a lively way to spend the day and connect with Japanese traditions.
Scandinavian Midsummer
Welcome summer the Scandinavian way. The Scandinavian Midsummer Festival at the Scandinavian Community Centre gathers locals and families from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, and Finland for a joyful solstice celebration. Expect open-faced sandwiches and Nordic fare, a Viking Village, live music and performances, crafts, and playful competitions for all ages.

StreetFest on Central
July 1 is Canada Day, a national holiday celebrated across the country, and Burnaby marks it in a big way. The city fills with music, food, games, and all-ages activities from afternoon into evening. Hosted by the City of Burnaby, the free festivities end with fireworks lighting up the night sky.
