Discover a delicious new way to enjoy tea in Japanese Tea & Savoury Rice Bowls: The Edible Leaf, a hands-on Ochazuke workshop that explores Japan’s beloved comfort food—tea-soaked rice. Guided by Janice Chan, this culinary session introduces the “whole leaf” philosophy by moving beyond the teacup and using quality tea as a key ingredient in a savoury, warming dish.
In this workshop, you’ll learn how to build a satisfying bowl of ochazuke by combining perfectly cooked rice with flavourful toppings, then finishing it with a fragrant pour of tea. It’s simple, nourishing, and deeply comforting—ideal for tea lovers, food explorers, and anyone who enjoys quick, heart-warming meals with big flavour.
You’ll leave with a deeper appreciation for the versatility of tea, plus the skills to recreate ochazuke at home as a comforting snack, light meal, or anytime treat.
Times: 10:30 am – 11:30 am or 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Price: $56.81 | NNMCC Members: $45.69
