Experiences in Burnaby

Look up and explore something different, from guided stargazing on Burnaby Mountain to immersive planetarium shows that bring the night sky indoors.

WAYS TO EXPLORE THE NIGHT SKY

Burnaby offers a few unexpected ways to connect with space and astronomy. Watch the night sky through a telescope, step inside a planetarium, or join a public program designed for all ages and experience levels. Whether you’re curious or already know your constellations, these experiences make it easy to learn something new.

OBSERVATORY

Trottier Observatory & Science Courtyard

Located at the top of Burnaby Mountain, the Trottier Observatory offers free public stargazing during its regular “Starry Nights” events. Look through telescopes, learn from volunteers, and explore the outdoor courtyard with space to pause and take in the night sky. It’s an accessible, community-focused experience that runs on clear Friday evenings.

Good to Know: Weather dependent. Check ahead for updates before visiting.
